Mallory Park “Spring Scream”
29 March 2026
As has become the norm for the last three years, the One-Litre F3 Historic Racing Association gathered at Mallory Park on Thursday 19th March for their pre-season shakedown and test session - affectionately known as the ‘Spring Scream.’

Blessed by clear skies and warm sunshine, Mallory’s short lap once again demonstrated how well suited it is for testing. A dozen or so Screamers turned out for the event. As well as the regulars, it was great to see some of our new members out with their cars.
Mike Theaker and his beautiful Cooper T76 was resplendent in its original racing colours following a complete restoration. Paul Durban and his immaculate ex-Mo Nunn (formerly owned by Klaus Bergs) Lotus 41 was thoroughly enjoying himself, as was forem hill-climberClive Buffey with his ex-Mike Lamplough Jolly Club Chevron.
It was great to see two Mallock U2s together again (Nicholas Pearce and Gil Duffy), the latter’s car ready to go after a lengthy period of restoration. As can be seen from the photograph, Steve Seaman was taking the preparations very seriously - rehearsing the twists and turns from the relative comfort of the Paddock! Enrico Spaggiari’s Lotus 41X was being shaken down on his behalf by the Simon Hadfield team, and we were delighted to be joined by Barry Cannell (HGPCA), who has recently purchased the ex Midland Racing Partnership (formerly owned by Roger Fowler) one-litre F2 T60 Lola, Barry hoping to join us later in the season.
